Frequently Asked Questions

Where did the artwork come from?

All pieces are the original artwork of students/children from Africa, including the countries of Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya and others. They were acquired through a broker over 20 years ago, and are now being offered individually through this website. What you see is what we have. There are no copies, all are original and one-of-a-kind!
Let me restate that. These are ORIGINALS, not copies! There are EXACTLY ONE OF EACH. That's it. You will be buying the only one in existence. You might be buying a nice print. You MIGHT be buying something worth a tremendous amount of money.
Why did the students create the artwork?

It was made, again, a couple dozen years ago, possibly further back, impossible to know, to raise funds to get computers and modems (yes, modems, which leads me to believe the artwork is older than 20 or so years) for rural African villages.
What materials were used in creating the artwork?

The vast majority were created on thick artist's paper and a rare few are on cloth. Paint, watercolors, chalk, and colored pencils were used by the artists.
Is there any information about individual artists?

Very little is known except what has been supplied on the artwork. Some students made notes on the front, some on the back, and with some there are no notes.
How will the artwork be shipped?

We will ship it in thick cardboard tubes, free of charge, to protect it during transit. When you receive it, you will want to let it unroll naturally. Then you can take it to a frame shop and get it matted and framed for your collection.
How much is each piece worth?

To an admirer, a collector, one-of-a-kind, original artwork is the Holy Grail, is difficult to find, and often impossible to buy. This is a collection of over 100 pieces of ORIGINAL artwork. Priceless is a cliche, but . . . ? We selected a price that is very reasonable for something one-of-a-kind, allowing those interested to make multiple purchases to hang as a collection.
